ECCO's Camera Systems Go Above and Beyond Industry Standards

Constructing a Pipeline During a Bone-Chilling Canadian Winter? ECCO Has You Covered

This blue beast is a directional drill that cranks out 240,000 lbs of thrust and built to work the most rugged terrain on earth. It is capable of boring through hundreds of feet of rock and soil to clear a passage for a pipeline in minutes. Working with such equipment in extreme conditions, safety is of utmost importance. American Augers, the manufacturer of the DD240T directional drill, relies on ECCO products to keep workers safe and effective every day of the year.

American Augers equips its drilling platforms with the EC5605-WM Gemineye™ wireless camera system allowing operators to extend visibility beyond the cab and drilling rig. Not only does the system meet their technical and safety needs but the EC5605’s durability proved to be critical for a customer in Canada who was drilling during the dead of winter. Senior Electrical Design Engineer Aaron Traxler relayed:

“They were very happy with the units. The datasheet may state -4°C but they were seeing temperatures down to -45°C! The cameras never had an issue. The displays were inside the operator’s cabin but they are only millimeters from uninsulated glass.”

Traxler and the American Augers have happy customers with reliable equipment. ECCO is proud to serve the hard-working men and women in the construction and energy industries. They maintain the infrastructure and pipelines that fuel the economy and keep our homes comfortable 365 days a year.
